Baked Beans, Biscuits, and Scrambled Eggs

Ingredients:

Directions: When I tried this recipe on a canoe trip, we emptied the baked beans out of the can at home and carried them into the Park in a Ziploc bag... reinforced inside another Ziploc, just in case of a leak! The beans just needed to be (gently) heated over a burner.

We also searched and searched for powdered whole eggs, but couldn't find them! In desperation we turned to "real" eggs. :-) The eggs were boiled for 10 seconds each and then immersed in cold water, before being packed in one of those hard-sided egg-carrying cases, which was then wrapped in a Ziploc for extra protection. This pre-treatment only cooks the outermost layer of the egg white and helps prevent air exchange through the egg's shell, thus preserving it longer. We scrambled the eggs at camp to eat them.

The biscuits were made with store-bought biscuit mix, skim milk powder, water, and grated cheese. We formed the dough into little cakes and fried them over a stove. They were very YUMMY.
