Canadian Guiding Uniforms
I've been playing around with the clipart available from the Girl Guides of Canada. Here are our Canadian Guiding uniforms, and a little bit of information about each age level. Please note that several new pieces have been added to our uniforms in the last few years; however, I haven't had a chance to add new graphics - yet. :-)

Sparks
|
Sparks is for girls aged 5 and 6, and is the youngest branch of Guiding in Canada. The girls wear a pink t-shirt which has their Promise written on the front: "I promise to share and be a friend." |
Brownies
|
Brownies is for girls aged 7 and 8. They have several uniform choices; the two shown here are the brown dress and the striped shirt and brown pants options. Other uniform pieces include a brown sweatshirt with orange maple leaves on the front, brown sweatpants, and brown shorts. The brown badge sash (almost visible on the girl wearing the dress) and the orange scarf can be worn with any combination of uniform pieces. When the girls are enrolled, they wear a Brownie Pin on their sash. |
Guides
|
Guides is for girls aged 9-11. They also have several uniform options. Shown here are the blue dress and the blue striped shirt with blue dress pants. Other uniform pieces include a blue sweatshirt with red maple leaves on it, blue sweatpants and blue shorts. The badge sash (almost visible on the girl wearing the dress) and the white tie can be worn with any of the uniform combinations. When a Guide is enrolled, she wears a gold Trefoil pin on her badge sash. |
Pathfinders
|
Pathfinders is for girls aged 12-14. Their uniform consists of either a vertically blue-pin-striped blouse (long or short-sleeved) or a horizontally blue-striped polo shirt, as well as either a navy blue skirt, pants or shorts. The green tie is worn with any combination of uniform pieces. Not shown is the small green badge sash which is worn on the right hip. A navy blue sweatshirt with white maple leaves is also available. When a Pathfinder is enrolled, she wears a gold pin with a green trefoil on her badge sash. When she earns her Canada Cord, she wears either the Cord on her right shoulder, or the Cord Pin on her sash. |
Sr. Branches
|
The Senior Branches are for girls aged 15-18. Girls have a choice of three different programs they can follow: Rangers, Cadets, or Jr. Leaders. Rangers wear a red tie (shown here) and a gold enrolment pin with a red trefoil. Their primary focus is community service. Cadets wear a yellow tie and a white trefoil enrolment pin; their focus is on developing their leadership skills. Jr. Leaders wear a navy blue tie and a blue enrolment pin and work in other units. All three Branches also attend various camps, trainings and social functions. Sr. Branch members are also permitted to wear the Canada Cord they may have earned as a Pathfinder. |
Guiders, Link, and the Trefoil Guild
The main elements of the uniform for Pathfinders, Sr. Branches, Link, Guiders and Trefoil Guild members are the same - the pin-striped blouse (long or short-sleeved), the striped polo shirt, the navy blue skirt or pants. Our Guiders do not wear a tie. To denote what Branch they work with, each Guider wears a trefoil pin of the appropriate colour: pink for Sparks, blue for Guides, green for Pathfinders, red for Rangers, yellow for Cadets, and white for Jr. Leaders. Brownie Guiders wear an owl pin. These pins are worn on the left collar tip. Other pins and awards, such as the World Pin, Camp Leadership Pins, Trainers Pins, and Year Bars, are worn in a row above the left breast pocket on the uniform blouse, or in a row in a similar position on the polo shirt.
Link is designed especially for young women (aged 18-30) who would like to remain in contact with Guiding but who may not have time for a regular weekly commitment like a Guide meeting. Many Link members are away from home at college or university, and the Link program allows them to make friends wherever they go! Link members wear a special Link pin on their collar.
The Trefoil Guild is for older Guiding members (30-plus!), who have either 'retired' from active Guiding duty or who would just like to work/play with women their own age! They have their own purple sweatshirts as a uniform choice, as well as a special Trefoil Guild pin to wear on their uniform.
