Ceremony:

Seacrest Owl: Good evening ladies and gentlemen, my name is Seacrest Owl. Welcome to the final night of Brownie Idol. Since September these Brownies have been having the time of their lives. But it all comes down to one night – tonight – the votes have been tallied and in a few minutes we will find out who will be advancing to second year and who will be moving on to Guides.

Let me introduce the judges who have been here all year watching these girls grow and learn and inspiring them to be true to themselves (as each owl is introduced she stands and takes a bow): Paula Owl, Randy Owl, Cowell Owl.

I’d also like to introduce our special guest talent coach Madonna Owl who has been working with the girls all week helping them get ready for tonight’s show. (Madonna Owl stands and takes a bow.)

And now, performing a medley of their favorite camp songs, please welcome your XXth Brownies led by Madonna Owl!

CAMP SONG MEDLEY
(All Brownies, lead by Madonna Owl):

I said Boom Chicka Boom (girls echo) (2x)
I said Boom Chicka Rocka chicka rocka chicka boom (girls echo)
Oh yeah (girls echo)

My mother gave me a nickel to go and buy a pickle
I did not buy a pickle I bought some Bubblegum
Nananana bubblegum (x3)
I bought some…

Black socks they never get dirty,
The longer you wear them the blacker they get
Sometimes I think I might wash them but something inside me says…

Ging gang gooli gooli gooli gooli watcha
Ging gang goo, Ging gang goo
Ging gang gooli gooli gooli gooli watcha
Ging gang goo, Ging gang goo
Heyla heyla sheyla heyla sheyla heyla hooooooo

I said Boom Chicka Boom (girls echo) (2x)
I said Boom Chicka Rocka chicka rocka chicka boom (girls echo)
Oh yeah (girls echo)

(tune: My Bonnie) Last night as I lay on my pillow
Last night as I lay on my bed
I stuck my feet out the window
Next morning my neighbors were dead

Canada is a very fine place,
You’ll never see a maple leaf upside down.
Here’s to Canada and the towns we love, can anyone here name the capital of Saskatchewan?
Regina !

This land is your land this land is my land
From Buena Vista to Vancouver Island
From the Arctic Circle to the Great Lake Waters,
This land was made for you and me

I said Boom Chicka Boom (girls echo) (2x)
I said Boom Chicka Rocka chicka rocka chicka boom (girls echo)
Oh yeah (all together)

Seacrest Owl: Let’s hear what our judges thought of that performance before we see the girls perform again in their circle groups. Randy Owl?

Randy Owl: Dogs, that was totally top of the charts! You girls are really going places! Girl Guides has not seen the last of you! Rock on, dogs!

Paula Owl: (In tears) I can’t believe some of you will be leaving us. You are just so wonderful. That was the best performance this year!

Cowell Owl: Well, it was alright. But I doubt the audience understood much of what you said. What kind of rubbish is Ging Gang Gooli anyway?

Madonna Owl: Actually, Lord Baden Powell made up that song in 1948. He was looking for a song for the World Jamboree that everyone could sing no matter what their language was.

Seacrest Owl: Thank you judges and thank you Madonna Owl for setting Cowell Owl straight. Now each circle group will have a chance to dazzle you. First, let’s welcome on stage XX, XX, XX (name the girls). These are the Elves.

Elves: (Skip onstage singing the Elf song) This is what we do as Elves, think of others not ourselves.

(Elves sing "We are the Brownies" (to tune of We Are the Champions by Queen))

We are the Brownies, we’re friends.
And we’ll keep on helping to the end.
We are the Brownies, we are the Brownies.
No time for frownies, ‘cause we are the Brownies.
Yes we are.

Each judge provides comments appropriate to their character – to be improvised.

Randy Owl: Lots of “dogs”
Paula Owl: Very complimentary and exuberant
Cowell Owl: Weird comment (well, I liked their outfits??)

Seacrest Owl: Our next act will be brought to you by the Pixies. Please welcome XX, XX, XX and XX (name each girl in the circle).

Pixies: (Skip onstage singing the Pixie song) Look! We are the jolly pixies helping people when in fixes.

(Pixies sing "My Favorite Brownie Things" (to tune of My Favorite Things))

Singing and playing and seeing my friends,
Doing crafts and laughing and camping at Woolsey
Parties and badges and lending a hand,
Girl Guides is one of my favorite things.

Each judge provides comments appropriate to their character – to be improvised (see above).

Seacrest Owl: Our final performers of the evening are the Fairies. Please welcome XX, XX, XX and XX (name each girl in the circle).

Fairies: (Skip onstage singing the Fairy song) We’re the fairies shining bright, trying hard to do what’s right.

(Fairies sing "Twinkle Twinkle Guides in Blue" (to tune of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star))

Twinkle Twinkle Guides in Blue
How we wish that we were you
We’ve been Brownies for a while
And soon we’ll move on up in style
Twinkle Twinkle Guides in Blue
We can’t wait to be Guides too

Seacrest Owl: Those were the Fairies, ladies and gentlemen. Judges, what did you think of the last performance of the evening?

Each judge provides comments appropriate to their character – to be improvised (see above).

Seacrest Owl: Thank you. This is the moment you’ve all been waiting for. I have the final results right here and we are ready to crown your 2007 Brownie Idols, right after this message...

Would the following Brownies please come and join me on stage: (call up each girl who will be moving on to second year by name).

Congratulations, girls you have completed the first year of the Brownie Program. We look forward to seeing these idols back again next year!

Madonna Owl (or Commissioner) hands out the envelopes (containing last set of badges) and a flower to each girl.

I would now like the following Brownies to join me: (call up each girl who will be moving on to Guides by name).

Girls, enjoy your night as Brownie Idols… because next year, you can move on to Guides! Congratulations!

Madonna Owl (or Commissioner) hands out the envelopes (containing last set of badges and fun and adventure pin) and a flower to each girl.

Seacrest Owl: Let’s hear from all our Idols one last time!

Brownies: (Singing) Oh hear us now, your children call. Grant to us peace, and bless us all. Goodnight.

(Brownies take a bow…)
