Candle Ceremony for Lady BP Award Presentation
(by Wendy Baker and Karen Lidster, White Oaks Area Day 2006)

Thanks to Wendy Baker, who posted this ceremony on the Guiding Mailing List.

Give each girl a trefoil shape cut out of foamy with a large birthday candle in the center and the slip of paper that they are going to read glued on it.

Leader: May you wear your Lady BP Pin and be reminded of what a gracious lady she was. Take your light into the world and let it shine forth with love and knowledge.

Sing a song like "It's a Small World" and then ask each girl to hold her candle out in front of her. Make a wish for the future of Girl Guides and blow their candle out.
