New Guider Enrolment
Yet another great idea posted to the Guide Mailing List by Wendy Baker!
We would like to welcome some new Guiders to Guiding tonight. We know that your journey through life has brought you to this point. We would like you to know something about Guiding and so these flowers remind us of the world of nature which we in Guiding love and respect, but each flower individually will also teach you about Guiding:-
This yellow carnation represents our Promise and Law, the shining example about what Guiding is all about.
This white carnation represents ourselves and our personal values, our well being and our respect for ourselves and others.
This red carnation represents fun, new friends, new adventures, new challenges and new experiences that you will gain through Guiding.
This yellow carnation represents pride in accomplishment, satisfaction that you are helping young women and girls to be responsible citizens of the world.
This white carnation represents development of leadership and decision making skills which you will achieve through Guider trainings.
This red carnation represents the skills that you will learn and shared leadership and teamwork which are an important part of Guiding.
This pink carnation represents service to others, learning and teaching girls how important others are.
This green carnation represents the natural environment which we strive to protect.
This multicoloured carnation shows us that guiding is a diverse organization and that it is open to all girls whether from Canada or from another country.
This white carnation represents understanding and knowledge of the global community which you will gain through Guiding.
This last carnation is to let you know that you are now a member of the worldwide sisterhood of Guides and Girls Scouts known as WAGGGS and that you now have sisters in 136 countries around the world.
Finally this yellow rosebud is just beginning to open, so it also symbolizes that you are just beginning your life in Guiding, thank you for joining us.
This blue ribbon ties all of these flowers together just as you have tied Guiding to your life. These flowers also symbolize the Principles of Guiding which we all strive to make part of our life in and out of Guiding.
Welcome sisters!
Please note: if it is too expensive to buy flowers, candles could be substituted of different colours and lit one by one with the same explanation for the candles as the flowers.
