Lady BP Pin Box Ceremony

Thanks very much to Wendy Baker, who wrote this ceremony and shared it with the Guide Mailing List.

Ask girl to come forward and hand her a box. Tell her that she can unwrap her box and that it contains invisible items that she did in order to complete her Lady BP challenge. She must read each box as she opens it. (Another way to do this is to put clip art of the various items on a ribbon and have the girl unroll it as the commentary is read.)

First Box: Completed Discovery Challenges

Second Box: All her completed Interest Badges in each level plus 2 more - you could list them all

Third Box: Service Project and Thanks Badges

Fourth Box: Knowledge about Lady BP

Fifth Box: WAGGGS mottos and facts

Sixth Box: Using the Promise and Law in your daily life

Seventh Box: Camping Record

Eighth Box: Collection of Guiding Mementos

Ninth Box: Uniform

Tenth Box: This pin is in the shape of Lady BP's hat. Wear your Lady BP Pin and be reminded of what a gracious lady she was. Take your light into the world and let it shine forth with love and knowledge.

Adaptation: You could get clip art for all of the above items. Glue them on a piece of wide ribbon or crepe paper. Start with the pin pinned to the end of the ribbon and roll it into a little bundle. Give it to the girl and start unrolling so that the clip art is in the same direction as the pin at the end. Then she can pin the pin on and leave the streamer of ribbon or crepe paper. Commentary that can be read as she opens each box:

These items as you unroll your ribbon are visible items that show what you completed in order to earn your Lady BP award. [modify as necessary]
